Improper use of verbs taking two objects

　　Example:

　　Wrong：每次去朋友家，他总是告诉一两件有意思的事情。

　　Right：每次去朋友家，他总是告诉我一两件有意思的事情。

　　“告诉”is used in the pattern “告诉某人某件事”. The error lies in the omission of the receiver of the action“告诉”(the object referring to person).We may use “我” after “告诉” to fill the position of “某人”.

 

　　Example:

　　Wrong：他对杏仙告诉，他要走了。

　　Right：他告诉杏仙，他要走了。

　　Right：他告诉杏仙说，他要走了。

　　The sentence can be corrected in two ways 1) in accordance with the grammatical characteristic of “告诉”，change the sentence into the pattern with double objects—告诉某人某件事；2）use the pattern “对……说”instead.
